Counselling: About Me
0777 202 4753
I have a wide experience of counselling issues and clients through working in a hospice, with pupils in primary and secondary schools, as a workplace counsellor for the NHS & for EAP's and within NHS primary care for GP's.
With all my clients, the difficulties that bring you to counselling are not my focus but rather how it is to be you living your life. It is important to me that you have time and space in a safe and calm environment to speak about whatever you wish.
As an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I abide by their Ethical framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My accreditation shows that I have met the standards required by BACP “to demonstrate the capacity for independent, competent, ethical practice” (www.bacp.co.uk/accreditation).
I love nature and walking and as part of that I enjoy looking at maps. I picture your life as a map and in our sessions, you choose the route. As a person centred counsellor, I will explore it with you, the peaks and the valleys, through sunshine and rain. It would not be my wish to explain where you are to walk but to follow your lead and walk alongside you. In this way you will learn to find and trust your ability to find your own, individual way through life. My experience as a mindfulness facilitator naturally finds it way into my counselling work. It is your choice how much you explore this as part of our work together and it would be something we could discuss if you are interested in finding out more.
